Divisional FFs meet in Barisal today
Barisal divisional convention of freedom fighters to press the demand for trial of war criminals will be held at Barisal Auditorium today.
It is part of a countrywide programme to hold divisional convention of freedom fighters, organised by the Sector Commanders Forum, a body of sector commanders during the Liberation war.
The convetion here will be attended by sector commanders Air Vice-Marshal (rtd) AK Khondokar Bir Uttom, Maj. Gen. (rtd) K M Safiullah Bir Uttam, Maj. Gen. (rtd) CR Dutta Bir Uttom, Maj. Gen. (rtd) M Harunur Rashid Bir Protik, Maj. Gen. (rtd) Masudur Rahman Bir Protik, valiant freedom fighters Akku Chowdhury, Anwar Kabir and other commanders and sub-sector commanders during the war.
Eight sub committees have been formed, official permission taken and security arrangement completed to make the convention successful.
Organisers here said at least 1,000 delegates from different district and upazila units of Muktijoddha Sangshad will attend the convention.
Muktijoddha Sangshad leaders held view-exchange programmes with professionals, socio-cultural organisations and representatives from different strata of life, they said.
