IDB team visits Sidr-hit Sharankhola
A four-member highlevel team of Islamic Development Bank (IDB) yesterday visited the Sidr-hit Sharankhola upazila.
Members of the team are director of IDB Hasan Salam, adviser to president of IDB in Bangladesh M A Sattar, divisional chief of IDB in Jeddha Dr Nijad Shubai and representative of IDB in Bangladesh Mohammad Saifuddin. The team stayed there from 11am to 1pm.
The IDB team was received by Bagerhat deputy commissioner (DC) Shahidul Islam and Major Shahinul Huq of Sharankhola Army camp. The team visited two cyclone shelters at Dhanshagor union and Rayenda Islami Dakhil Madrasa.
Later, they were briefed by Sharankhola UNO Shahnewaz Talukdar about relief, reconstruction and rehabilitation works of the Sidr-hit upazila.
The briefing was held at the Upazila Resource Centre (URC) at Rayenda where all high officials of Bagerhat district and police administration including joint secretary of External Resources Division of the Ministry of Finance Saeed Ahmed were present.
