First convention held in the city
Members of National Institute of Cardiovascular disease (NICVD) Alumni Association assembled together in their first convention with the vow to step up country's cardiac care, says a press release.
Cardiologists and cardiac surgeons working in different parts of the country attended the conference held in a local hotel in the city recently.
They shared their experience and knowledge for the better management of heart diseases in the country. National Professor Brig (Rtd) Abdul Malik, who was the Chief Guest of the programme said, "Cardiovascular diseases are epidemic in our country and the number of patients with cardiac ailments are increasing day by day. The association can serve the nation better through exchanging skills and developing relationship among them to improve treatment facilities, academic and research activities throughout the country."
Special Guest Mr A K M Zafar Ullah Khan, Honorable Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare praised the efforts taken by the cardiac physicians. He expressed hope to strengthen the current facilities available in the country.
Professor Dr A K M Mohibullah, Diector of National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) and convener of the Association chaired the programme while Dr Md Afzalur Rahman, Member Secretary of the association delivered vote of thanks.
