Shun policy of confrontation
In the recent city corporation elections, the candidates of Awami League failed to win where EVM was used. And the government is continuously saying that the elections held under this government was free and fair and that EVM was hundred percent reliable.
The ruling party did not bother about the city corporation election and let it run on its own course so that people would be convinced of the government's neutrality.
But people are thinking otherwise. They understand well that the Awami League wants to hold the next general election without a caretaker government and also wants to use the EVM. The CG system was the demand of the Awami League, and now they cannot discard it at their whim. Even the High Court gave the order to hold the next two general elections under a caretaker government. So, what is the problem with the Awami League, why has it become so desperate to abolish the system?
We urge the government to act rationally and not to create a confrontational situation which will be disastrous for the country.
