The family members of the murdered chairman of Nalua Union Parishad, Nurul Absar, have doubted that Satkania Upazila Chairman Abdul Monaf might be involved in his killing.
At a press conference, they also demanded quick submission of charge sheet in the case and formation of a special tribunal for speedy trial.
Ahmad Hossain, father of Nurul Absar, read out a written statement during the conference at Chittagong Press Club yesterday.
Ahmad said if Monaf did not have any connection in the killing, why his supporters went to the court when police placed the arrestees there.
On December 26, 2011, unidentified assailants shot dead Nurul Absar, 35. The victim's family and supporters have been suspecting Monaf's involvement in the killing since then.
