Karuna Begum
Today is the third death anniversary of freedom fighter Karuna Begum.
She was born in 1953 at Patarchar village in Muladi of Barisal.
During the War of Liberation, Karuna took part in armed battle under sector No. 9 against the Pakistani occupation forces and got injuries in her right leg in an operation. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman visited her at the CMH hospital after the war.
The valiant freedom fighter died from cancer on the day in 2009.
