Boy dies as wood falls on him from roof
A minor boy died yesterday after a piece of wood fell on him from the rooftop of a nine-storey under-construction building at the city's Mohanpur in Adabar.
The incident occurred when the victim identified as Mohammad Yamin, 2, was playing in front of their residence adjacent to the building.
He was rushed to the Suhrawardy Hospital at around 1:30pm where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
A case was filed with Adabar Police Station against the developer company Shahjalal Technology and Development Ltd and the land owner in this connection.
Sub-Inspector Ahad Hossain said the incident occurred as there was no protection net around the building.
