Cop kills himself in Ctg
A police constable reportedly committed suicide at Kalurghat Transmission Centre of Bangladesh Betar in the port city early yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Chai U Mong Marma, 25, hailing from Bandarban.
Motiur Rahman, sub-inspector (SI) of Chandgaon Police Station, said the policeman was discharging his duty as the sentry of the transmission centre, shot himself by his official rifle.
When another sentry reached the spot for his duty at 12:05am, he found Mong lying dead on the floor, the SI added.
The body was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) morgue for autopsy.
An unnatural death (UD) case was filed with the police station in this connection.
