RU agronomy students boycott classes
Students of Agronomy and Agricultural Extension Department of Rajshahi University (RU) yesterday boycotted the classes and formed a human chain demanding cancellation of the teachers' appointment of Botany background candidates in the department.
The university authorities are going to recruit nine teachers from Botany background in the department though the department have already seven teachers, they alleged.
The human chain was formed in front of the university's central library at around 11:00am that followed a procession on the campus.
They also submitted a memorandum to the university Vice Chancellor Prof Abdus Sobhan.
