3 held for 'violating teenager’
Three men were arrested yesterday allegedly for violating a 15-year-old teenager by impersonating Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) personnel in Oxygen area of Chittagong city on Tuesday.
The arrested are Md Nasir, 26, Hasan Tareq, 21, and Abdul Hannan, 20.
The victim arrived in the city that day in search of work. Her cousin, Ahsanullah, a factory employee, was taking her to stay the night with a colleague of his in a women's hostel in the area when the attack took place, said police.
Nasir, introducing himself as a Rab member, stopped and told them to follow him. When Ahsanullah denied complying, they beat him and violated the teenager, said Ahsanullah in the statement of the case he filed with Bayezid Police Station.
On hearing the victims' cries, locals came forward, gave chase and caught Nasir. As per his information, police nabbed the remaining two later in the night.
