‘Mar 12 rally a bid to save war criminals’
Awami League Acting General Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif yesterday termed BNP's March 12 mass rally a programme to save the war criminals and urged Khaleda Zia to cancel it.
“Withdraw the March 12 mass rally, otherwise the people will face the programme jointly to give you a good lesson”, the ruling party leader warned.
“If you [Khaleda] have any respect for the martyrs and the spirit of the independence, stop supporting the war criminals”.
Khaleda Zia has proved herself that she has no faith in the spirit of Liberation War, the AL leader said. “Khaleda Zia has betrayed the cause of 30 lakh martyrs in the war”.
He urged AL leaders and activists to stay on the streets till the completion of the trial of the war criminals who are responsible for committing crimes against humanity in 1971.
Hanif made the remarks at a joint meeting organised by Awami Swechchasebok League (ASL) at the Bangabandhu Avenue Office yesterday.
