Tauqir, Bipasha file compensation suit
Actor Tauqir Ahmed and his wife Sharmin Hayat Bipasha yesterday filed a Tk 50 crore compensation suit against his sister Tanzin Haider, an expatriate living in Sweden, and her husband Syed Ali Haider.
The case, filed with First Joint District Judge's Court of Dhaka, said the case filed by Tanzin on March 19 accusing them of embezzling her money had no ground.
In her complaint, Tanzin alleged that the couple had received US $ 1,77,482 and Tk 15 lakh from her through banks and cash in two phases for setting up a firm.
Tauqir and Bipasha, in their suit, said they had already repaid Tanzin Tk 1.35 crore through pay order and cheque and the land and structures in Gazipur were bought with their own earned money.
The case was filed to tarnish their image in society, they added.
