Caught with Body of Wife
Saiful on remand
A Chittagong Court placed Saiful Islam, arrested on Saturday in connection with killing his wife Farjana Mili and cutting her body into four parts, on a two-day remand yesterday.
Metropolitan Magistrate Osman Gani issued the order when police produced the accused before the court seeking three-day remand, said Officer-in-Charge of Bandar Police Station Nurul Afsar.
Saiful Islam confessed to the police that he had strangled his wife Mili, 30, at their rented residence in New Mooring Residential Area in Chittagong city on Friday and left the place in the morning leaving the body there.
On Saturday, Saiful returned to his house and cut the body into four parts, kept the lower parts of the body in a refrigerator and put the other two parts in two boxes.
Then he set for his village home in Chhagalnaiya of Feni with the boxes.
Feni police on Saturday night arrested him with the two parts of Mili's body in the two boxes and handed over him to Bandar Police Station. Meanwhile, a team of Bandar Police recovered the lower parts of Mili's body from their residence on Sunday morning.
Mili's Father filed a case with Bandar Police Station against Saiful on Monday.
Saiful and Mili were not on good terms, as Saiful got married to a college girl over a year ago. Saiful is a diploma engineer who worked in a ship breaking yard in Chittagong.
