Sangbadik Sramik Karmachari Oikya Parishad (SSKOP) has deferred its today's six-hour long hunger strike and work abstention programme due to the opposition's dawn-to-dusk hartal. The programme will now be held in front of Jatiya Press Club from 10:00am to 4:00pm on May 9. The decision came at SSKOP's emergency meeting at the press club with its co-convenor and Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) President Ruhul Amin Gazi was in the chair, says a press release. Leaders of SSKOP, an organisation of journalists, employees and workers of newspaper and news agencies, called the programme demanding formation of the 8th Wage Board. SSKOP requested all stakeholders to attend a meeting at Jatiya Press Club at 11:00am on May 8 to make the programme a success.
