Rajuk now under ACC watch
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) formally initiated a process to detect organisational corruption in Rajdhani Unnayan Kartipakhya (Rajuk to make the service sector free from graft and more service-oriented.
A three-member special team, headed by Deputy Director Nurul Huq, is now looking into the matter. Two other members are ACC deputy director Saidur Rahman and deputy director Mahmudur Rahman.
The team was primarily given four months time for this purpose, if necessary, they will get more time, said an ACC official.
A team of the ACC, led by Director General Khandoker Aminur Rahman, met Rajuk Chairman Engineer Md Nurul Huda at his office and discussed the matter, he said.
Rajuk chairman assured the ACC team of providing all necessary cooperation in this regard.
While the team sought some documents from the Rajuk chairman, as they got some allegations of corruption against some officials of the organisation.
ACC have already started working in Dhaka City Corporation (DCC), Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), Roads and Highways, Directorate of Environment, Directorate of Housing, Bangladesh Telecommunication Limited (BTCL), Directorate of Health and Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) to find out corruption.
“The commission is now working to detect loopholes which encourage the organisational corruptions in service sectors,” ACC Chairman Ghulam Rahman told the news agency yesterday.
