Reception to SSC achievers

The students of seven Christian missionary schools, who have passed this year's SSC examination, were offered felicitations at St Placid's School in Chittagong city yesterday. Around 400 students took part in the reception ceremony. At the beginning of the programme, a colourful procession paraded the major streets of the city. The programme, organised by Education Commission of Chittagong Catholic Diocese, concluded with distribution of certificates and the students vowing to maintain values in their family and social life. From seven missionary schools, a total of 198 students achieved GPA-5 with an average pass rate of 98.06 percent. Of them, four schools achieved 100 percent success rate. Rev Lawrence Subrato Howlader, auxiliary bishop of Chittagong Diocese, was present at the programme along with Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) Chief Executive Officer Anwara Alam, Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbubur Rahman, and Councillor Jannatul Ferdous Popy.
