Fraudulence convict held in Ctg
Police arrested a fugitive man convicted of fraudulence in CDA Avenue area of the port city's Agrabad early yesterday.
Faruk Bin Zaman, 50, of the area, was sentenced to six months' rigorous imprisonment by a Chittagong court about two months ago, said Kazi Motiul Islam, officer-in-charge of Double Mooring Police Station.
He was charged with swindling people out of thousands of takas by promising them to provide with foreign visas, he added.
The OC said that following a tip, police made the arrest of Zaman at one of his relatives' house around 1:30am yesterday. There are some other cases against him with different police stations in the port city, he added.
