Patuakhali district administration will launch a drive soon to remove illegal structures built on khas land on both sides of Swanirvar Road in the town, officials said. Md Mahbubur Rahman, assistant commissioner of land (AC land) of Patuakhali Sadar upazila, served notices on 87 people on May 29, asking them to remove their illegal structures from 0.50 acres of land adjacent to the Laukathi River by June 10, but none of them paid heed to the directive. The AC land said unscrupulous people built structures on both sides of Swanirvar Road, grabbing khas land. We will take actions against 87 land grabbers as they did not remove their structures within the timeframe, he added. Eviction notices to the grabbers of several other plots will be issued in phases, the AC land further said. The land grabbers, who have been given notices, are Ripon Talukder, Abdul Mannan Mridha, Razia Begum, Kamal, Jahanara Begum, Jamal, Sheuli Begum, Sohana Begum, Yunus Mollah, Sumaia Begum, Shahna Akhter, Asahak Mollah, Nasir Uddin, Shakil, Shah Alam, Khokon, Al Amin, Zafar Mia, Abudl Khaleq, Nur Banu, Taslima Begum, Rintu, Kazal, Bachchu, Rehana Begum, Mizanur Rahman, Nurul Haque, Ripon, Mozammel Haque, Morsheda Begum, Firoza, Sandha Rani, Zamal Khalifa, Kalam Khan, Forkan Mia, Abdus Salam, Monirul Islam, Kazal Kumer Das, Roni, Mizanur, Saleha Begum, Jahanur, Aleya Begum, Milon Mia, Nur Jahan, Afraz Ali, Ashraf Fakir, Abdu Barek, Harun Mia, Kasu, Alamgir Akond, Jahangir Khan, Abdul Goni, Sattar Sikder, Nurul Haque Howlader, Jalil Mollah, Jahangir Mollah, Mosharraf Mridha, Siddik Howlader, Nasir Mridha, Kartik Mistree, Mosharraf, Badal Howlader, Monir, Harun, Motahar Uddin, Jalal, Atahar Biswas, Ibrahim, Sattar Howlader, Abul Howlader, Babul Howlader, Jabbar Talukder, Dulal, Sahid, Chan Banu, Jahangir, Menaj Uddin, Zahura, Jebunnaharand Tania Islam. All grabbers will face eviction if they fail to remove illegal structures from khas land after receiving notices from the authorities concerned, district administration sources said.
