Police informer stabbed to death in capital
A police informer was stabbed to death at Salsabad Lane of Old Dhaka last night, said police.
The deceased, Mohammad Mamun, a resident of Nayabazar area, was stabbed in the chest with a knife by one Shahin of the area around 8:00pm during an altercation. Shahin's wife Jasmin and sister-in-law Taslima were present, said police.
Locals rushed Mamun to Mitford Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Mamun helped police detain Shahin, accused in several criminal cases, around one month ago. Shahin, Jasmin and Taslima were detained in this connection, added police.
