5 killed, 5 injured in road crashes
Five people were killed and five others injured in separate road accidents in Dhaka, Rangpur, Brahmanbaria and Rajshahi on Sunday and yesterday.
Staff correspondent reports, an unidentified man, aged around 40 years, died as an unknown vehicle hit him while he was crossing the road at Norda in Gulshan of the capital around 3:00pm yesterday.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead around 7:00pm, said Gulshan police.
Our Rangpur correspondent reports, two women were killed in two road accidents in the district yesterday morning.
A truck ran over Anjuara, 45, of Darmadas Abdullahpur village in the sadar upazila, while she was crossing Rangpur-Dhaka highway in Damdama area, leaving her injured on Sunday night.
She died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) yesterday morning.
In another accident, Shukara, 40, of Paglapir Panbazar village in the upazila, was injured as a Dinajpur-bound passenger bus hit her on Rangpur-Dinajpur highway in Paglapir area the same night.
She died at the RMCH yesterday morning.
In Brahmanbaria, Amir Hossain, 9, son of Shamsu Mia, was killed and three others were injured when a CNG-run auto-rickshaw overturned on Purbabag link road at Anandapur village in Nasirnagar upazila on Sunday evening.
The injured were taken to the upazila health complex.
BSS from Rajshahi says, Suraiya Parveen Munni, 27, wife of Harunur Rashid of Shahpur village in Tanore upazila, was killed and her husband and daughter were injured when their motorbike turned turtle in Kaliganj area of the upazila yesterday morning.
All of them were rushed to RMCH where the doctors declared Munni dead.
