15 Rohingyas sent back to Myanmar
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) sent back 15 Rohingyas to Myanmar from Teknaf in Cox's Bazar early yesterday.
In a drive, a team of BGB intercepted a boat with five Rohingyas in the Naff river in Nazirpara area around 12:45am, said BGB 42 Battalion Commanding Officer Lt Col Zahid Hasan.
The BGB men detained two Rohingyas from the boat while three others jumped into the river and swam to Myanmar coast, he said.
In another drive, BGB men intercepted another boat with 13 Rohingyas when they were entering Bangladesh's territory in the river around 1:45am.
