Left parties urge govt to maintain pre-Eid law, order
An alliance of 11 left-leaning parties yesterday called the government to keep alert so that law and order situation does not deteriorate ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The leaders were addressing a meeting of the central executive council of the alliance at the Workers' Party Office in the capital, says a press release.
They also expressed grave concern over intentional attacks on minorities throughout the country, including a recent one in Dinajpur.
About the next parliamentary election, Workers Party of Bangladesh President Rashed Khan Menon said the structure of the interim government should be cleared to ensure participation of all political parties.
The alliance also called upon the government to construct Padma bridge with country's own finance.
