B'Baria clashes injure 45

At least 45 people were injured in separate incidents of clashes in Brahmanbaria yesterday. Two rival groups bearing lethal weapons locked into a clash at Rajghar village in Brahmanbaria Sadar upazila, leaving at least 20 people injured and 15 houses vandalised, said locals. The clash ensued from a previous altercation between the groups, one led by Chand Ali and the other by Alauddin, while watching a football match in the village, they said. Another clash between rival groups over possession of a shop at Dakkin Poirtala village under Brahmanbaria pourasabha left 15 people injured, said locals and police. The groups of Habibur Rahman and Fazlur Rahman respectively clashed with lethal weapons near Dakkin Poirtala bus stand where Habibur was trying to erect a shop on Khas Land, they said. Meanwhile, 10 workers were injured when two factions of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) clashed over establishing supremacy at Kandipara village under Brahmanbaria pourasabha Thursday night, said eyewitness and police. The two factions were led by the district JCD General Secretary Yeasin Mahmud and JCD leader Md Rumel respectively.
