7 killed, 8 hurt in road crashes
Seven people were killed and eight others injured in separate road accidents in Chittagong, Barisal, Comilla, Lalmonirhat and Sherpur on Saturday and yesterday.
Our staff correspondent from Chittagong reports, covered van driver Kamal Hossain died and another was injured as a truck hit the covered van in Mirsarai area on Saturday night.
Injured Mohammed Sultan, the trucker, was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
Meanwhile, an army vehicle hit a rickshaw in Darvish Hat area of Lohagara upazila yesterday, killing Lokman and injuring its puller.
In Barisal, college teacher Sudhangshu Sarkar died as a tomtom carrying him overturned at Khejurtala in Muladi upazila yesterday.
UNB from Comilla reports, tractor helper Abul Bashar died instantly as the tractor crushed him when he fell down from it at Nagaish village in Brahmanpara upazila yesterday.
Our Rangpur correspondent reports, bicyclist Montaj Ali, 50, was killed after a pick up van ran him over while he was crossing Rangpur-Dinajpur highway in Chilarbarir area of Taraganj upazila on Saturday afternoon.
In Lalmonirhat, Shawkot Hossain died and another was injured as their motorbike hit a tree beside Lalmonirhat- Burimari highway in Saptibari of Aditmari yesterday.
The injured was taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
BSS from Sherpur reports, CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver Aminul Islam was killed and five others were injured as a bus hit the auto-rickshaw on Sherpur-Jamalpur Highway in Chaygaria para area yesterday.
The injured were admitted to Sherpur District Sadar Hospital.
