Rab, police give inconsistent views
The Detective Branch of police yesterday said 12 people were involved in the killing of Dr Narayan Chandra Dutta Nitai.
Earlier they had said seven people were involved in the murder.
In addition to inconsistent views of police, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) said on Sunday that they found link of eight people to the killing.
The force also claimed to have found involvement of two doctors of National Institute of Diseases of the Chest and Hospital, where Nitai used to work.
Rab and DB police have so far arrested 11 people, including the three masterminds -- Saifur Rahman, 36, manager of the private clinic Reliance Medical Services Ltd of which Nitai was an owner, Nitai's driver Kamrul Hasan Arun, 27, and medical assistant Tariqul Islam, 24.
Four of the arrestees so far have given confessional statements to a Dhaka court.
Dr Nitai, 47, was killed in his Mahakhali residence in the capital on August 23.
