CVASU erects signboard

Students, teachers and employees of the Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) erect a signboard claiming ownership of an area of land adjacent to CVASU's academic building in Chittagong yesterday. They had earlier foiled an attempt by officials of the Department of Livestock Services (DLS) to occupy the land for the construction of a World Bank project. Before being transformed into a university in 2006, CVASU was known as Chittagong Government Veterinary College under DLS. After 2006, CVASU went under the Ministry of Education but DLS is yet to hand over the land deeds, sources said. Photo: STAR
