Woman 'with criminal link' held

Police arrested a woman with an alleged link to criminal activities at her house in Mandartala village of Harinakundu upazila yesterday. The law enforces also seized a rifle, two locally made guns, three cleavers, and seven handmade bombs from her house. The arrestee, Farida Begum, is wife of Billal Hossain alias Beltu who is a local outlaw and accused in two cases with Harinakundo Police Station. On a tip, police raided Beltu's house to capture 7-8 outlaws hiding there. As the gang members escaped, police arrested Farida. Officer-in-Charge Abul Khayer said Farida confessed that the arms and bombs belonged to her husband and she helped the gang commit crimes.
