Death anniversary
The 40th death anniversary of AKM Fazlul Kabir Chowdhury will be observed at Gohira of Raozan upazila in Chittagong today. On the occasion, various programmes including milad mahfil and qurankhwani will be held, and foods will be distributed among poor people. On September 9, 1972, Kabir Chowdhury died of cardiac arrest at his residence in Dhaka. He was chairman of Legislative Committee of the East Pakistan Assembly, vice chairman of Chittagong Port-Trust, governor of Marine and Mercantile Academy, and counselor of Chittagong District Council.
