Price hike of JU admission forms protested
Students under the banner of “Sadharan Chhatra Sangram Parisad” of Jahangirnagar University yesterday brought out a procession on the campus protesting price hike of admission forms for the first year honours programmes in 2012-13 academic session.
The university authorities have increased prices of admission forms in the forthcoming admission test which will begin on October 13 and continue till October 18.
The students said they would go for tougher movement if the form prices are not reduced.
They said most of the poor admission seekers cannot buy application forms at the increased rate.
The admission seekers will have to pay Tk 1800 to buy forms of nine sub-units of arts and humanities faculty which was Tk 330. They will have to pay Tk 400 for applying in the faculties of social science, mathematical and physical science, biological science, and business studies which was Tk 330.
