Man's tongue cut, eyes gouged out in capital
A man was viciously attacked in Bagan Bari area of the capital yesterday.
A group of miscreants attacked Mohammed Sohel, 22, an alleged police informant. They cut out Sohel's tongue and gouged out his eyes.
Sohel was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment.
Sohel's neighbours claimed a drug-peddling ring attacked Sohel as he had previously given information about them to police.
However, Officer-in-Charge of Kadamtoli Police Station Shafiqul Islam said Sohel was not an informant but he had previous enmity with his attackers.
