3 held with firearm in capital
Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested three people with a small firearm from Bosila in the capital's Mohammadpur area on Wednesday night.
The arrestees are Sahidul Alam alias Sujon, 25, Md Kabir Hossain, 25, and Rehsan Ali, 40.
Saiful Islam, senior assistant commissioner of DB, said acting on a tip-off a team of DB challenged four to five people when they gathered for trading the gun at a tea stall around 11:00pm.
"The suspects tried to run away sensing our presence. We caught three of them," he said.
In a primary interrogation, the arrestees told that Sujon made a contract with Rehsan to buy the firearm at Tk 30,000, he added.
