One killed, 7 hurt in road crashes
A man was killed and seven others were injured in separate road accidents in the capital and Barisal on Thursday and yesterday.
Our staff correspondent reports, five people were injured as a private car hit a roadside concrete structure around a tree on Mintu Road in the capital yesterday.
They are Abdur Rahim, Rubel, Babul, Mohsin and Jashim.
Ramna police said the car driver, Mohsin, losing his control over the steering, hit the concrete while they were going to Ashulia from Fakirapool around 3:20pm.
Rahim was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital while the others took treatment at different city hospitals.
In Barisal, a man was killed and two others were injured as a motorbike carrying them skidded off the road in Dapdapia of the city on Thursday night.
The deceased was Ali Hossain, 35, of Nalchhity upazila in Jhalakathi district.
Kotwali police said the motorbike rider tried to save a cow on the road while they were going to Timirkathi.
Injured Shahid and Abul were taken to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital where Ali Hossain died early yesterday.
