Doctor's 'Negligence'
SBMCH ward ransacked over patient's death
Relatives of a patient at Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH) ransacked a ward of the hospital following the patient's death due to alleged negligence of a doctor early yesterday.
Injured in a road accident, Munia, 17, a student of Amrita Lal Dey College, was admitted to the ward-3, witnesses said.
Munia's father Shamim Hossain of Alekanda area in the city alleged that despite an emergency call on Thursday night, Dr Milton visited the patient after one hour and declared her dead.
Later, the relatives ransacked the ward.
Denying the allegation, Milton told that Munia had a brain hemorrhage and her guardians ignored the doctors' advice to take her to Dhaka for better treatment.
