Woman hacked to death
A woman was hacked to death over a land dispute at Kharia village in Paikgacha upazila of Khulna yesterday.
The deceased was Kariman Begum, 40, wife of Fazle Sana of the village.
Locals and police said a rival group, claiming ownership of the couple's land, were digging embankment in the land around 5:00am.
When the couple resisted them, they hacked Kariman repeatedly, leaving her spot dead, while her husband managed to escape the incident.
The body was sent to Khulna Medical College morgue for autopsy.
