Office of Charmichael College head vandalised
A group of agitating students of Charmichael College, Rangpur vandalised their principal's office yesterday noon.
Campus sources said some college unit Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists damaged the room following submission of a memorandum by Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir to the principal.
Admitting to the incident, principal of the college Prof Shah Md Moksed Ali, however, said he could not identify the vandals.
College unit BCL president Rafiur Rahman Rafi and its general secretary Rakibul Hasan Kanon denied the allegation.
College unit Shibir president Razibur Rahman Palash said they submitted the memorandum in the morning to press home their various demands, including reopening its dormitories which remained closed for about one and a half years.
After an emergency meeting with the teachers, the principal lodged a general dairy (GD) with Kotwali Police Station in the afternoon.
