Girl dies in accident
A girl died as a blown off nozzle of a tyre pumper hit her in the head in the capital's Gabtoli yesterday.
The victim was, 8, Subarna Akhter, daughter of day labourer Mohammad Tuhin.
Khalilur Rahman Patwari, officer-in-charge at Darus Salam Police Station, said Subarna received head injuries as the nozzle hit her when she was eating bread near to a workshop around 3:00pm.
A new tyre was being pumped at the workshop, he said.
The victim's mother Hosne Ara, who works at a restaurant near to the workshop, said she was working inside the restaurant leaving her daughter outside.
Subarna was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead.
