Fake revenue stamps seized, 4 held
Detective Branch (DB) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested four persons from Agrabad and Goshaildanga in the port city and seized fake revenue stamps and court fee worth Tk 17 lakh from their possession on Monday and yesterday.
The arrestees are Din Islam, 35, Firoz, 35, Kanchan Biswas alias Sumon, 30 and Mominul Hoque Saiful, 33.
“Disguising ourselves we went to Agrabad area and arrested Saiful and Sumon when they tried to sell us fake court fee on Monday. We seized a fake revenue stamp worth Tk 1 lakh,” said Humayun Rashid, sub-inspector of DB.
Police arrested Din that night and Firoz the following day and recovered the remaining fake stamps and court fees worth Tk 16 lakh.
