Alleged murderer of cop arrested
Police on Monday arrested an accused in the murder of an assistant sub inspector (ASI) in Chittagong.
The arrestee is Osman Goni, 30, of Valukia village in Mirsarai Upazila.
Abdur Rob, sub inspector at Mirsarai Police Station, said they arrested Osman, the second accused under warrant in ASI Md Borhan Uddin murder case, from the upazila's Korerhat area around 11:30pm.
Nine pieces of Yaba tablets and six bottles of Phensidyl were also seized from Osman's possession, he said.
On April 16 last year, Borhan Uddin, who then worked at the police station, was allegedly killed by Osman while trying to arrest him on charge of trading contraband items in the upazila.
