7 arrested with yaba tablets
Seven people were arrested with 1,230 pieces of yaba tablets in Chittagong city yesterday.
The arrestees are Zahidul Islam, 24, Ziyaul Haque, 25, Towhidul Islam, 26, Al Masud, 21, Mohiuddin, 24, Shakul Islam, 25 and Tarek Mahamud, 20.
Acting on tip-off, a team of Narcotics Control Department (NCD) conducted drives in GEC circle, Chawkbazar and Baizid area around 6:00pm and seized the drugs from their possession.
“They all are students and involved in yaba peddling,” said NCD Deputy Director Mukul Jyoti Chakma.
Two cases were filed with Kotwali and Baizid Police Stations in this connection.
