Cable service worker killed in capital
A lineman of a cable operator agency was killed as some unidentified criminals slit this throat at North Jatrabari in the capital early yesterday.
The victim Md Mongol Miah, 25, of Meghna upazila in Comilla, worked at Megha Dish Centre in the area.
Rashid Boksh, owner of the cable operator agency, filed an extortion case against him with Jatrabari Police Station three months ago.
Mongol's family members suspect that the youth might have been killed by Rashid Boksh.
Locals said the bloodstained body of the victim was found near the house of one Nasiruddin at Premtoli Lane in the early morning and, later, police recovered it from there around 8:30am.
Jatrabari Police Station Sub-Inspector Imrat Hossain said the youth might have been killed in a preplanned way due to an earlier feud.
"I saw blood on the roadside from where the body was recovered and, therefore, we suspect the youth was killed on the same spot," he added.
Mongol's father Islam Uddin, who came to Dhaka from Comilla yesterday, said, "My son might have been killed by Rashid Boksh as he earlier had driven away Mongol from the work by filing a false case against him following a feud over the dish business."
"Rashid again engaged my son in his business as part of a trap to kill him," he alleged.
Talking to The Daily Star, Rashid denied the murder allegation saying that he had reappointed Mongol in his business as he had begged his pardon.
