DU gives Tk 2 lakh to road crash victim's family
Dhaka University (DU) authorities yesterday donated Tk 2 lakh to the family members of Towhid Zaman who was killed in a road accident in the capital's Shahbagh intersection on August 28.
DU Vice Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique handed over a cheque to the victim's father Muhammad Aminul Islam at the former's office on the campus.
Prof Siddique said they donated the amount not as compensation, just to support Towhid's family.
Compensation for the loss of a life is impossible, he observed.
Hailing from Kishoreganj, Towhid was a second year student of the university's international relations department.
