19 BCL men of DU sued for attempted murder
A Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal activist yesterday filed an attempted murder case with a Dhaka court against 19 Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leaders and activists of Dhaka University unit.
In the compliant, Md Abbas Ali said some BCL men attacked him with an intention to kill him at Mall Chattar on the campus on September 10. They also snatched his mobile phone worth about Tk 65,000 and Tk 20,000, he said.
Abbas Ali, a Chhatra Dal activist and student of Islamic studies department of DU, filed the case with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court in Dhaka. After the hearing, the court ordered Shahbagh police to register the case.
DU unit BCL Organising Secretary Mohammad Anu, Surya Sen Hall unit BCL General Secretary Md Tuhin and Kabi Jasim Uddin Hall unit BCL Joint General Secretary Al Amin are also among the accused.
Abbas said Anu led the September 10 against him.
