ABM Mohiuddin gets death threat
Former Chittagong City Corporation Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury and his personal secretary (PS) Osman Gani got death threat on Friday night.
Police sources said Osman lodged a general dairy (GD) with Panchlaish Police Station in this regard around 12:30am yesterday.
While talking to The Daily Star Osman told that a man, who mentioned his name Nowshad Mahmud Rana, called him over mobile phone around 10:26pm for three times on Friday. The number, from which the call came, was 01716200240.
“When I received the call, Rana rebuked me very much and threatened to kill both me and ABM Mohiuddin, president of Awami League (AL) of Chittagong Metropolitan unit,” said Osman Gani.
“Following the incident, I informed my sir of the matter over the phone as he went to Saudi Arabia on October 2 for performing hajj and he instructed me to inform the police of the matter,” he added.
Manjur Morshed, assistant commissioner of Panchlaish zone in Chittagong Metropolitan Police, said police are investigating the matter.
Despite repeated attempts, the above mentioned phone number could not be reached yesterday.
