Road accidents kill 8, injure 15
Eight people were killed and 15 others injured in separate road accidents in Sirajganj, Chittagong, Gopalganj, Pabna, Rajbari, Bhola and Tangail on Monday and yesterday.
Our Sirajganj correspondent reports, two persons were killed and 10 others injured as a bus hit a truck from the opposite direction on Western Approach Road of Bangabandhu Bridge at Talukderbazar in Kamarkhand upazila of Sirajganj yesterday morning.
The deceased were the bus driver Solaiman Hossain Kalu, 35, of Balshabari village in Ullapara upazila, and passenger Saidur Rahman, 38, of Doatpur village in the upazila.
In Chittagong, Md Morshed, 20, son of Saleh Uddin of Madhyam Saraf Bhata village of Rangunia upazila, was killed and another injured as a bus rammed a motorbike from the opposite side on Chittagong-Kaptai road in Babani Gate area of the upazila in Chittagong yesterday morning.
The injured Forkan Miah, 22, of the village, was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
In Gopalganj, Shukuran Begum, 45, died as a truck hit her on Dhaka-Khulna highway in Chandradigulia area of sadar upazila yesterday morning.
Following the accident, locals blocked the highway for half an hour.
In Pabna, Samsul Alam, 24, died as a coach hit a human hauler in Shahpur Pathshala square area of Ishwardi upazila on Monday night.
UNB from Rajbari reports, cattle trader Sajib Molla, 16, son of Liakat Molla of Bezba village in Mohammadpur upazila of Magura district, died as a bus ran him over in Daulatdia Ghat area in Goalando upazila yesterday.
BSS from Bhola reports, Zahirul Alam, 55, died when a motorcycle hit him from behind in Kunjerhat area of sadar upazila on Monday night.
In Tangail, a Dhaka-bound cattle-laden truck collided head-on with another truck in Charvabla area of Kalihati upazila on Monday night, killing Mintu Miah, 30, and another cattle trader instantly and injuring four others.
