Abduction bid foiled, Indian held
An Indian was caught by local people while he was trying to abduct a grocery shop owner at Samanbhag tea garden in Baralekha upazila in the district Saturday night.
Local people also recovered a country made gun, a cocktail and some chilly powder from them.
The Indian gang tried to abduct grocer Gonesh Madrazi when he was closing his shop at about 11 pm to go home. As he screamed, emergency bell of the garden was rang that drew nearby people. They caught alleged abductor Kanti Bikash Chakma. His accomplices fled away.
He later told Baralekha police that he was from Chikachhera in Karimganj in Assam state of India.
