Female doctor found killed at clinic in capital
Police recovered the body of a female doctor who was allegedly killed at her clinic office in the capital's Dakshin Khan early yesterday.
Dr Sajia Afrin Eva, 28, might have been strangled, police said. Her left eye was bruised and an injury mark was found around her neck. The victim's family suspected that the criminals tried to rape her before the killing.
Eva graduated from Sylhet Osmani Medical College and started working at Amtola Brac Clinic in Dakshin Khan, where she was killed, less than two weeks ago. She used to work at night and live with her family in Ashkona.
On Thursday night, Eva reached the clinic around 8:00pm, her father, Monirul Islam, a sub-inspector of police, told The Daily Star.
Police arrested three persons--Khadiza, a nurse, Mamun, a guard, and Babu, son of the clinic building's owner. Another accused, Faysal, the caretaker of the clinic, is missing.
Khadiza told police that on Thursday night there were two patients and three patients' attendants at the clinic. She found Eva's body on the floor of the duty doctors' room on the second floor of the four-story clinic when she went there around 5:45am.
Eva's father filed a murder case with Dakshin Khan Police Station accusing Faysal, Khadiza, Babu, Mamun and unidentified others. In the compliant, he said the three men killed Eva after failing to rape her and Khadiza helped in the murder.
