JS body for cutting illegal gas lines
The parliamentary standing committee on power, energy and mineral resources ministry yesterday recommended that the authorities concerned disconnects all illegal gas connections and brings the persons under law for taking the connections.
It also asked the authorities to bring the persons involved in giving the illegal gas connection to book.
The government should not raise prices of power and gas again within its present tenure, it opined.
Committee chairman Shubid Ali Bhuiyan told a press briefing after a meeting of the committee at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
The committee also urged the government to formulate a policy for ensuring responsible use of gas, he said.
Abdul Maitn Khasru, Israfil Alam and Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapos were present at the meeting.
