3 held with 25,000 Yaba in Cox's Bazar
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested three people with 25,000 pieces of Yaba tablets and seized a pickup from their possession in Link Road area of Cox's Bazar district early yesterday.
The arrested persons are Shah Azam, 18, Mostafizur Rahman, 22, of Nila in Teknaf upazila of the district; and Ashraful Islam, 29, of Chandpur.
Rab sources said they were carrying the Yaba tablets in the pickup from Teknaf.
Acting on a tip-off, a team from Rab-7 of Cox's Bazar camp held them at around 1:00am after halting the vehicle while they were going to Cox's Bazar, said Maj Sarwar-E-Alam, commander of the camp.
“We found 25,000 pieces of Yaba tablets kept hidden in a pipe of the pickup's roof,†said Sarwar who led the drive.
The three were handed over to Cox's Bazar Police Station. A case was filed in this regard.
