Schoolteacher hacked to death in Lalmonirhat
Unidentified miscreants hacked a schoolteacher to death in Modhyo Kodma village of Lalmonirhat Thursday night.
The victim was identified as Anwar Hossain, 41, hailing from the same village under Hatibandha upazila. He was an assistant teacher at Paglarpar High School in Lalmonirhat.
Locals fished the body from a canal in the village yesterday and handed it over to police. The body was then sent to Lalmonirhat sadar hospital morgue for an autopsy, law enforcers informed.
Quoting family members, police said Anwar left home on Thursday night and did not return.
Anwar was involved in a squabble with a local over disputed land some days back, they added.
A case was lodged in this connection.
