PM distributes winter clothes among the poor
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday distributed winter clothes and blankets among the distressed and cold-stricken people in the capital.
The prime minister distributed the winter clothes, including blankets, shawls and cardigans, among nearly 1,000 distressed people at the Awami League's Bangabandhu Avenue central office in the afternoon.
Dhaka City Awami League arranged the programme on the ground floor of the party office.
AL Organising Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Faridunnahar Laily, Labour Affairs Secretary Habibur Rahman Siraj, State Minister for Law Affairs Advocate Qamrul Islam, City AL acting president MA Aziz and General Secretary Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya and Jubo League Chairman Alhaj Omar Faruq Chowdhury were, among others, present.
The city AL sources said the prime minister yesterday distributed the winter clothes among nearly 1,000 distressed people and more clothes would be distributed among 2,000 cold-stricken people later through ward-level leaders of the party.
